The
Caesar Line was the last German line of defence in Italy before Rome during
the Second World War. It extended from the west coast north of Anzio,
over the Alban Hills south of Rome, through Valmontone, Subiaco, Avezzano
to north of Pescara on the east coast. Germans began to construct this
new line of defence after the Anzio landing, on the 22nd of Genuary, to
delay the capture of the italian capital, but it was never completed. "Highway Six Club" |
